Jennifer Porter who is a Life Member of the Royal Academy of Dance, went to the Royal Ballet School at the age of 11. After her graduation, she went to Austria to dance, beginning in the Corps de Ballet and progressing to the position of first soloist in Vienna. Her teaching career began after the birth of her daughter, Natalie, now an actress in Vienna. Jennifer successfully introduced the Royal Academy of Dance system into Austria at the end of the 70’s. She spent 20 years teaching in Austria and also held the position as the Director of Ballet at a big music school in Austria. During this time, she introduced the RAD teaching system to a further 3 schools in Austria before moving to Germany. She had 5 teaching jobs in total in Cologne, which also included teaching psychology, Benesh Movement Notation, Music Theory & also preparing student dance teachers for their teaching exams. Again she introduced the RAD teaching system to yet another 3 schools in the county of Nord -Rhein -Westfallen.
During her career Jennifer has choreographed literally hundreds of dances and complete ballets for all age groups (professional & amateurs) for both stage and screen. |
