NFAD Principal Kayleigh Sargeant

Meet the team

  • Kayleigh began dancing at the age of two and quickly developed a love for Ballet, Tap and Modern. By 12, she was assisting younger classes, sparking a passion for teaching. She gained her Diploma in Dance Education at Roynon Dance Centre and qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance through the CBTS programme. Kayleigh is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique tutor and works closely with the Philip Cutts School of Dance & Sport Medicine. Since taking over NFAD in 2015, she has led the school’s growth with a focus on creativity, student wellbeing, and high-quality dance education.

Amber Tarrant Dance Teacher at NFAD
  • Amber has been dancing since the age of five, training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Freestyle. She also studied dance, drama and singing at a dedicated theatre school, where she discovered a passion for teaching at just 15.

With experience choreographing for large productions across several theatre schools, Amber brings both creativity and confidence to the studio. At NFAD, she leads our Musical Theatre programme with energy and care, helping students grow in performance skills, teamwork and self-expression. Her lessons are fun, engaging, and rooted in a love of the arts.

Amy Davies Ballet Teacher at NFAD
  • Amy is a qualified and registered Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) teacher, graduating in 2021 before spending two years working professionally in London. She also holds certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Silver Swans, supporting her thoughtful, student-centred approach.

After initially joining NFAD for cover work, Amy is now a valued member of our full-time faculty. She has a particular passion for pre-school and lower school Ballet, working closely with Miss Kayleigh to develop a strong, progressive foundation for our youngest dancers.

Grace Bullard Dance Teacher at NFAD
  • Grace began dancing at the age of four, training in RAD and ISTD syllabuses and performing in Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake with English Youth Ballet. Her love of dance and performance led her to train professionally at Bird College, where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

During her training, Grace worked with leading industry choreographers and directors, gaining valuable insight and stage experience. At NFAD, she leads our Contemporary classes, where she’s passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers through expressive movement, confidence-building, and a strong technical foundation.

Kevin Thatcher Ballet teacher at NFAD
  • Kevin began ballet at a young age and trained at both the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet School. He went on to enjoy an extensive professional dance career, performing internationally with renowned ballet companies — including the honour of dancing alongside prima ballerina Sylvie Guillem.

After his stage career, Kevin trained as a fitness instructor and personal trainer, and now runs series of dance and fitness-inspired classes and retreats.

At NFAD, Kevin teaches repertoire, conditioning, and vocational/adult ballet classes, bringing energy, knowledge, and passion to every session. His classes are known for being both inspiring and fun, and he continues to be a popular figure in the local dance and fitness community.

Ben Sargeant Accounts Manager at NFAD
  • Ben has a background in sales and management, having worked for several local businesses where he developed training programmes and progressed into leadership roles. More recently, he retrained as an accountant to support his family and enjoy more time with them.

Ben has been involved with NFAD behind the scenes since 2014 — many will recognise him as the lighting and sound technician at our shows. He now joins the team in an official capacity, supporting the school’s growth through accounts, administration, and technical operations.

Rose Riley Marketing and Business Operations Manager at NFAD
  • Rose brings nearly 20 years of experience in brand development, marketing and sales to the NFAD team. She has worked with organisations ranging from global brands to educational institutions, and now supports both the day-to-day operations and strategic growth of the school.

A lifelong dance enthusiast, Rose trained locally as a child and now enjoys taking part in NFAD’s adult classes and workshops, keeping her passion for movement very much alive.

NFAD's School Ambassador Sara Sturmey
  • Sara has been part of the NFAD family since the age of 2, making her our longest-standing student. Over the years, she has grown into an inspiring role model within the school—both on and off the stage. As Head Matron for shows, Sara plays a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring performances run smoothly and younger students are well cared for.

In her role as School Ambassador, Sara supports the teaching team by providing class cover for ballet and contemporary, and brings unwavering commitment to everything she does. Her reliability, kindness and deep-rooted passion for dance make her a valued support to Miss Kayleigh and the whole team.
