Run by Principal Kayleigh Sargeant, New Forest Academy of Dance is dedicated to offering Dance and Musical Theatre classes to all ages in a fun, positive and inspiring environment.
Our aim is to bring the joy of dancing and theatre into the studio and give everyone the opportunity to learn and perform with confidence, whether a student attends once weekly for fun or is considering dance and theatre as a career, the skills acquired in class will be incorporated into many aspects of their lives. Building confidence, self discipline, promoting team work as well as being able to work individually, we help students reach their full potential.
Classical Ballet develops poise, self discipline, musicality, performance quality and a highly increased physical and sensory awareness. At New Forest Academy of Dance we give every student the chance to develop the dancer within them and particularly focus on developing musicality and correct basic placement alongside appropriate technique. We hold Royal Academy of Dance examinations throughout the year. We do encourage pupils to take examinations when we feel they are ready, although are not compulsory. Vocational classes and the opportunity for pointe work is also offered where appropriate. Our students have had great success in gaining places to vocational training programmes and summer schools.
Tap Dancing is one of the most fun dance forms, from the styles of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, through to the latest modern influences, tap dance has and will continue to be enjoyed and admired by many. The ISTD syllabus has introduced exciting grades, based on American tap styles, encouraging a strong sense of rhythm as well as developing a sense of performance. Pupils can start from the age of 4 and examinations with the Imperial society of Teachers of Dancing can be taken.
Musical Theatre. These fun, exciting, engaging sessions will build confidence, build knowledge of the musicals by combining song dance and script to bring the joy of theatre to the studio! Our classes enable students to develop their creativity, express emotion, build on their social skills and self confidence whilst learning the different techniques used for performance on stage.
Contemporary dance was developed during the mid-twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world.
Boys only! class is as it says on the tin, this class is catered to boys and will explore different styles of dance and focus on developing the male dancer. A fun and energetic class where boys can build confidence and creativity tough dance.

We also offer opportunities to perform locally as well as in our bi annual whole school show.
