At the New Forest Academy of Dance, we offer a wide range of classes for children, teens and adults — starting from age 2½, with no upper age limit. Whether you're choosing your child’s first class or exploring something new for yourself, this guide explains the styles we teach, what students can expect, and how to choose the right class.

Dance supports children’s emotional wellbeing through movement, expression, routine and social connection. In this blog, we explore how regular dance classes can help students reset after a busy day, build confidence over time and feel part of a positive, supportive community.

At the New Forest Academy of Dance, we are always looking for ways to support our students not only as dancers, but as confident, capable individuals within our wider community.

Over the past year, our first group of students has taken part in the Embody Future Teachers Programme — developing their skills, supporting younger classes, and gaining a valuable insight into what happens on the other side of the studio. As they now move forward into the next stage of the programme, we are also preparing to welcome a new cohort ready to begin their own journey.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been recognised as one of Club Hub’s Top 100 Children’s Activity Providers in the UK for 2026. This award celebrates the very best organisations supporting children’s learning, creativity, confidence, and wellbeing — and we’re incredibly proud to be included among such inspiring company.

A gentle first step onto the stage for our youngest dancers. Our new End of Year Pre-School Showcase gives NFAD Tots and Movers students a relaxed, supportive introduction to performing, helping them build confidence, celebrate their progress and enjoy sharing what they have been learning with their families.
