Join New Forest Academy of Dance for an unforgettable week of musical theatre this summer. Musical in a Week returns for 2026 with Finding Nemo Jr, bringing together students for a full-scale production created in just five days.

This much-loved annual workshop is a highlight of the NFAD calendar, combining creativity, teamwork and performance in a supportive and inspiring environment.

What is Musical in a Week?

Musical in a Week is the New Forest Academy of Dance’s Summer Camp. An intensive, week-long workshop where students work together to learn, rehearse and perform a complete musical theatre production.

Across the week, students will:

  • Learn songs and choreography

  • Develop acting and stagecraft skills

  • Take part in staging and prop-making

  • Work as a cast to bring a full production to life

All students take part in singing and dancing, with optional auditions for speaking roles and solo parts. With a wide range of roles available, Finding Nemo Jr offers opportunities for all levels of confidence and experience.

The week concludes with a fully staged performance, complete with professional lighting and sound, in front of a live audience.

Week commencing 17th August 2026

Monday – Thursday

  • Lymington Centre

  • 9:00am – 3:30pm

  • (Lead roles may be required until 4:30pm on some days)

Friday – Performance Day

  • Brockenhurst Village Hall

  • Arrival: 9:00am

  • Finish: approximately 4:45pm (after the show)

The Final Performance

The week culminates in a live performance on Friday afternoon at Brockenhurst Village Hall.

  • Full lighting and sound

  • Professional production values

  • Four audience tickets included per student

  • Additional tickets available at £5

The performance will also be professionally filmed, and families will receive a recording to keep as a lasting memory.

Important Details

Who Can Take Part?

Open to students currently in Year 1 to Year 13.

Students must be available to attend for the full week.

Musical in a Week is a complete production process, and full attendance is essential for both individual progress and the success of the show.

While the workshop is open to all levels of experience, students be confident reading and memorising their lines and feel comfortable performing on stage at the end of the week in front of an audience.

Cost and Payment

£210 per student for the full week

  • Includes all rehearsals, production elements and costumes

  • Includes four tickets to the final performance

To make this more manageable, payment is split into instalments:

  • £60 non-refundable deposit (to secure your place)

  • Three further payments of £50 (in May, June and July)

Musical in a Week is not only a valuable learning experience, but also an incredibly fun and rewarding one. Students leave the week having:

It is a big commitment, but one that consistently delivers a truly memorable experience.

Spaces are limited and Musical in a Week regularly sells out. Early booking is strongly recommended.

To secure your place, please complete all three steps:

  1. Pay your deposit via Class Manager

  2. Check your student’s details are up to date in their Class Manager profile (including medical information and permissions)

  3. Complete the application form
